Who We AreMatthew Currie: BA (Hons), DPsych (Clinical) Candidate Matt Currie is the accredited Master Trainer and Quality Assurance Specialist for the training, delivery, and monitoring of Aggression Replacement Training (ART) in Australia. In 2002, he travelled to the United States to complete specialist training in ART through a grant provided by the Ian Potter Foundation. Matt’s clinical interests are in adolescent and early-adult development and he has wide-ranging clinical and research experience in working with disadvantaged and marginalised youth in mental health and juvenile justice service delivery. Matt is currently researching a longitudinal evaluation of ART in Australia (due for completion in early 2009), as part of his Clinical Doctorate at Swinburne University of Technology. He has delivered professional development programs in ART for Queensland Dept. of Communities- Youth Justice and is currently overseeing the Quality Assurance and implementation of the program across the State. He also developed Agents of Change Training- the behaviour change program for the Victorian Dept. of Justice, Gain Respect and Increase Personal Power (GRIPP) program, for which his business Collaborative Mind is one of the partner agencies. His research has been published in peer reviewed psychology journals and he has presented his work at several professional conferences. Matthew was nominated for the 2006 Victorian Dept. of Justice- Crime Prevention Awards for his work in delivering ART at Malmsbury Youth Justice Centre. |
